About Us

Limbe is the main producer of lime in BelizeLimbe is located in Spanish Lookout, Belize. It was started by Mr. Abraham L Dueck in 1976, and it has been a family business ever since.  Milton Dueck, Abraham’s son, is now the  manager of Limbe.

The reason Limbe was started was because there was a demand for Calcium in southern Belize, where the pH values are very low especially among the Citrus. Because of this, numerous tests were being done in all types of limestone deposits, thus resulting in the finding of the best lime found so far and made available here in Belize.

Over the last 40 years, Limbe has been  the biggest provider of Calcium and Magnesium in Belize, and is still in business today, and we are growing, as the need for agricultural lime is becoming more apparent in Belize.

We originally only provided white lime to citrus farmers. Over time, however, other farmers have begun to realize the huge importance of Calcium and Magnesium in growing healthy & productive crops. We now provide our lime (Ag Lime) to a host of different farms,  including, citrus, banana , corn, landscaping plants, and other agricultural crops. We even provide lime to Shrimp farms, as it is excellent in balancing the pH in the water.

We care about the quality of our lime, therefore we run regular tests with AL Laboratories in the past and now more recent also with Kinsey Agricultural Services, Inc. located in the US. Our lime is high in Calcium and Magnesium, which are both essential ingredients in growing citrus, corn, and every other crop grown in Belize.

From our lime stone quarry in Spanish Lookout, Belize, we make 4 different kinds of materials…

  • 4 inch and bigger rocks that are excellent for corrosion.
  • 2-4 inch stones that are used to make a solid foundation or a strong, solid road.
  • Road Material which is a mixture of  fine stones up to 1.75 inches. This is great for landscaping for the yard, or to fix the driveway.
  • White lime or Agricultural Lime. This is the main product that we supply. This product is goes through a 2mm screen, thus making it very fine, and readily available to the soil.
